Central Elementary

At Central, the core math program is HMH Oklahoma Math , published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Each class has a 90 minute block of time for teaching math each day. Teachers also use student-directed math centers and teacher-led small flexible skill groups for instruction.
 
The teacher works on specific math skills with students that have not met benchmark in mathematics to ensure they are progressively learning the needed skills.  These students are progress monitored by the teacher. When the children achieve benchmark levels, they return to receiving math instruction during the 90 minutes of core instruction only.
